[ed. note: this is a story written by Abby for a school assignment. she had to include all of her spelling words. she wrote this completely on her own. i kept the writing, punctuation, and grammar exactly as she wrote it. i added line breaks for clarity. enjoy.]
Mason the Martian – by Abby
published on 10/7/2015
Alexandra Leak believed in martians. She had actually met one before! It all started on a very stormy night. As a streak of lightning flashed across the sky, Alexandra nestle down under her covers. Suddenly, there was a very severe bang that must’ve started an avalanche somewhere!
Alexandra shot out of bed and ran over to the window. It was a U.F.O.! A drowsy and famished creature claimed out. Alexandra quietly, ever so quietly, opened the window and ventured outside. She clutched her midnight snack, which was a cookie and a glass of milk.
“Do you want something to eat?” she asked the creature
“Meeps!!” it shrieked, whirling around.
“Oh, I didn’t mean to scare you.” Alexandra said.
“Whak Whook Wheek.” the thing said. “Meek Meek Mason.”
“What?” Alexandra said.
“Kook.” it said then burrowed into the ground. It came back up, ceased a machine and spoke into it. [ed. note: ceased should be seized. Abby used the wrong word but I left it in here because it’s just too darn cute.]
“My name is Mason. I’m from Mars. A destructive robot came to our house and I migrated here for shelter.”
“Would you like to live with me until the robot leaves?” Alexandria asked.
“That would be great!” Mason said.
“Well, you have to make sure my brother doesn’t see you.” she said. “He’ll freak if he does.”
“He, he, he. O.k.” Mason said. He took a bite of the cookie she had given him.
“Zoo-Wee-Mama!” he said. “This is yummy!” He took a drink of milk and said, “This is so cold and refreshing!”
“Good,” Alexandra said. “Now come on in and I’ll prepare a bed for you.”
“Thaaaanks.” Mason said, yawning.
“I bet you’re sleepy.” said Alexandra. She yawned herself. “Let’s get to bed.”
* ~ * [ed. note: this is a “chapter marker” that they use in books to note a new chapter. abby put that in her version on her own.]
The next morning, Alexandra poured some cereal into a tiny bowl. She took it upstairs where Mason was sitting in his little bed doodling.
“I got you something to eat.” she said.”
“Shoo, Shoo!” Mason said. Then he slapped his forehead and picked up his machine. “Oh boy!” he said, then gobbled up his food.
The End
P.S. for some reason, the robot never went away, so Mason is still with Alexandra.
And now, this is a gallery of fashion designs Abby made. Each one has a name and some of them have a little saying that goes with them. She did ALL of these on her own with no input from us. There are some really neat ideas in here. I am very impressed.
Wow, her imagination is amazing! This story is so good, I am so glad you shared it with us. thank you!
Nice work, Abby/
