Cape May – Friday

Hello all,

Before starting, I want to point you to my brother’s website. He’ll be deploying to Iraq in a few weeks and he wrote this article yesterday regarding September 11th, and what it means to someone who is about to actually go and fight for our country. It’s a great read. Click Here to Read His Article.

So, again, I’m a day late with these photos. After the 30mph wind-fest that was Friday, I just had to sit and have a glass of brandy and some caramel popcorn after putting Abby to bed. Didn’t have the energy to post. But, here are the photos from our last day at the Cape.

We started out our day with another trip to Dock Mike’s Pancake house for Breakfast. Abby had Junior Pancakes, Tricia had Pineapple Coconut Pancakes, and I had the gut-buster, cholesterol special. It was a foot long omelet filled with American cheese, sausage, and home fries covered (yes, covered) with sausage gravy! Top it off with not one, not two, not even three – but FOUR pieces of rye toast and that was my breakfast. I almost ended up in a coma at the end of that ordeal. What a breakfast!

Afterwards, the sun graced us with its presence so we decided to try our luck at a walk through the nature reserve. This is where we got some GREAT pics of Abby last year. Not so lucky this time around. It seems that a week’s worth of wind and rain will turn a marsh into, well, a marsh. We had to WADE through a few sections of the trail. Luckily, we had the jogging stroller which has good clearance. Mommy and Daddy – not so lucky!

Finally made it to the section of gravel and fence where the magic happens and, whaddya know, the sun disappears, the wind kicks into high gear, and Abby turns into a horrible monster. We took a picture – because we had to, but Abby looks like we’ve kidnapped her.

We had to walk with the stroller backwards so the wind wouldn’t bother the little Piglet – what a way to travel (see picture below).

Made it back to the house for naptime. Returned out bikes and then walked home when Abby got up. Dinner was Pizza!! We had a stuffed pizza that had to have weighed 5 pounds. We could only eat one piece. We have enough pizza for dinner for FOUR NIGHTS!! Good pizza, though.

Anyway, made it home safe and sound and are back into the home routine.

And now…the pictures

Enjoy,
J

  1. O don’t know which one I like the best, they are all sooo good, but the one of her looking at the teacups could win a prize!
