We were able to go to Carter Mountain this past weekend up in Charlottesville. We stayed in a GREAT little apartment Tricia found on Vacation Rental By Owner (VRBO). Tom and Polly were the most gracious of hosts and the girls really enjoyed the two bedroom apartment at the back of their house. They had a pond with goldfish that Tom let the girls feed every day.
We picked Apples up at Carter Mountain. Had apple donuts and apple cider. And bought 25 pounds of apples. We also managed to come home with a 20 pound pumpkin because the stem looked so nice!!
It was a great weekend and the girls had a blast. I got a few photos of the festivities.
Enjoy,
J
Just arrived. We’ve got our bags, heard the speech on where the apples are and the different varieties available, and are ready to go!
Picking the first Abby apple.
Picking the first Ellie apple
She found another one.
One of my favorite images from the weekend. Abby is my VAL – voice-activated lightstand just out of frame to the right.
The three girls tracking through the mud.
Yep, I made it too!
Tricia was there picking as well.
Here’s Abby with a smile on her face.
The four of us enjoying donuts.
Mom and daughter.
Ellie taking it slowly with the hot apple cider.
We were in fog like this the whole day. It was kind of cool.
Abby couldn’t decide if she was hot or cold…so she improvised.
The two girls towards the end of the day.
Abby striking a pose. I didn’t ask her to do this, by the way. She came up with it on her own.
Dinner!! We ate in Saturday and had a great meal of spaghetti.
Our view from the front yard.
One last hike before heading home.
Enjoyed the pictures! Glad you all had a fun family weekend adventure!
Fantastic pictures ! Thanks for allowing me to see them!
