Uncle Rudy giving Ellie a hard time in front of the monkeys.
Standing in front of the lion! He was kind of shy that day. Didn’t want to be bothered.
Feeding the giraffe! Ellie couldn’t get enough of this.
See…she kept feeding them…and feeding them…and…
In the Aviary with Budgie sticks. These were popsicle sticks with seed glued to them. The parakeets would land on the stick and eat the seeds. Ellie LOVED this.
She kept wanting to touch the birds but they weren’t really interested in that.
The hand-off! This actually worked.
Abby and nature – up close and personal.
Ellie trying her hardest to get the parakeet to climb onto her stick.
Walking around…like a boss!
Feeding the goats.
Ellie just went back and forth from the goat to Uncle Rudy with the food and then back to the goat.

Ellie again. She’s so determined.
The kids in front of the penguins.
Heading home with Uncle Rudy.
Abby proving that she can jump just as far as a Kangaroo…well, almost.

All of us dressed up for Easter. Ignore the socks!
For Abby’s Easter break this year we decided to go visit Uncle Rudy, Aunt Carley, and little Ethan in Richmond. We had a great three days with them and the kids got along nicely.
We took a trip to the Metro Richmond Zoo which was FAN-tastic! So much to see there. There were so many animals and so many exciting things to see. The trip started with the monkeys screaming at each other across the moat. It totally sounded like they were yelling “HEEEEY!” at each other.
Ethan wanted to see the Lion and Ellie just wanted to dump $50 worth of food into the goats. We spent about 2 hours there and just scratched the surface.
Thanks to the Richmond Wesslers for being such good hosts. We can’t wait to go back.
Here are the photos from the zoo trip with a few of the girls in their Easter Dresses thrown in for good measure!
Enjoy,
J
Such fun to watch—for me! Loved them all!
Thanks for posting – looks like it was a FABULOUS time!
