Can you believe it? Our little girl is 4 years old! Yesterday was Abby’s 4th birthday, and it was filled with parties, ponies, pools, and fun!
The day began with a “Happy birthday to you..” serenade by Mom and Dad to wake the sleeping Piglet in the morning. She immediately popped out of bed, ran over to her height chart, and asked us to measure her and see if she had grown over night.
Coincidentally, yesterday was also Field Day at school, so the teachers had arranged pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, games, and a special cookout lunch for all the kids. To Abby, it was the best birthday party ever! I baked Blue’s Clues cupcakes and we put together Blue’s Clues goody bags for all her classmates. It was the cheapest (because we didn’t have to pay for any of the activities) and most elaborate birthday party she will probably ever have! I can’t wait to see what she expects for next year!
After school, I surprised Abby with our first trip to the outdoor pool of the season. She swam for nearly three hours, nonstop, and caught a quick cat nap on the ride home. After her requested pancakes and sausage birthday dinner, we opened presents, sang Happy Birthday again over more cupcakes, and watched one special Blue’s Clues episode before she collapsed in her bed for the night. I think it was a great 4th birthday for Abby!
The pictures are great, they made me happy because I feel like I was there for her fourth birthday. If I have to buy a pony I will make sure she gets a pony ride every birthday! Happy Birthday Abby! You, like your parents, are amazing, just the way you are!!!
Abby had an amazing birthday! Pony, petting zoo, face painting, pool, and cupcakes! Doesn’t get much better than that! What fun! Wish we could have been there! Can’t wait to see you guys this weekend for some more birthday celebrating!
