OBX part trois…

Greetings all!

We’re taking a page from our Disney vacation last year and have instituted “Mickey’s Rule.” Daily, required naptime!! It’s the only 45 minutes of quiet we get around here!

BUT, my sanity is your gain because I have time to upload a few photos from the last couple of days. We had a great time with Gran and Grandpa Wessler. We took a nice walk on the beach on Wednesday. Dinner was meatballs and gnocchi followed by Phase 10. (Tricia won, of course!)

Thursday saw us taking a walk in the morning followed by pool time in the afternoon. Gran and Grandpa headed back to Yorktown and we had crab-stuffed salmon. Told Abby it was “fish-stuffed fish” so she would at least TRY it. She did her best to puke but somehow choked it down!! Good for her!! I got to take her out to the toy store and to get some ice cream. A beach tradition. We ended up at an ice cream store selling Edy’s ice cream. It was a bit of a let down getting ice cream that we can just buy in the store but Abby was happy so that’s all that mattered. The lady behind the counter gave Abby the “you’re-not-EVER-coming-off-this-sugar-high” size scoop. AND, then she charged me for it!! The gall.

This morning was pancakes followed by the beach followed by the pool followed by lunch followed by more pool followed by nap time. It’s pizza night tonight and we’re going to order in. We learned our lesson trying to take Ellie out on Sunday. It should be a nice evening.

While I was setting up, Tricia kept Ellie busy down by the water. We were WELL past bedtime and seriously pushing our luck but the golden hour waits for no man (or baby). We just had to suck it up and keep her happy. Ellie, I mean.

This is my view of Elizabeth every morning. The sunlight comes through the upstairs window so nicely. I had to take a photo of her enjoying her Cheerios.

Abby out on the patio this morning. She is getting so big. That hat came from Aunt Carley two YEARS ago!! She continues to wear it even though she has to force it over her noggin every night.
