Another butterfly from our bucket has hatched! We had it sitting on top of the fridge this weekend while my dear college friend, Vanessa, and her adorable son, August, where here visiting (little fingers were a bit too curious) and it flew out Sunday night and scared us to death. Imagine seeing a giant black flying thing in your kitchen at 9 o’clock at night! We thought it was a bat at first, but then quickly realized that it was Patches’ little brother flitting across the room. The little ones were already in bed, but the three of us had fun trying to capture him and “cage him up” so Abby and August could see him in the morning. Here’s some photos of us having fun with him.

Abby named him “Hatches” this morning while you were at the NIH. I think the next one should be named “Snatches.” Just sayin’…
Miss you three already!!!
He looks JUST like his mommy!! How exciting for me to see my Virginia babies actually “patched”!!! You’ve done a super job raising them 🙂
