Saturday Fun Time

The girls and I had a nice Saturday, packed with fun activities despite the grey and rainy weather. We had a lazy morning (well the girls did…they had computer time while I cleaned). We eventually got dressed and went to lunch at Jimmy Johns. Yum! Then we walked down the block to the Children’s museum where they spent 90% of the time in the new Clifford the Big Red Dog exhibit. Home for some much-needed quiet time after that. Of course, I took advantage of that time by going outside (in the rain, mind you) to dig in my evolving kitchen garden. It was actually much easier in the rain because the ground was good and soggy! Abby joined me soon after I went out and enjoyed running around getting soaked. Such a novel concept, playing in the rain. 🙂 Finally, we topped the day off by going to see the Sleeping Beauty ballet in VA Beach. It was performed by the same school/company that does the Nutcracker that Abby danced in. We took along Abby’s school and dance class friend, Nathan. It made for a very late night with two very tired little dancers, but much fun was had by all, so it was worth it!
